The Rock

So, basketball season started a couple weeks ago and our first game is Monday.  Exciting! So, I thought, just to get into that b-ball cheer,  I would put a basketball on my blog.

I like the contrast of the texture; two kinds of rough, basketball and concrete.  The colors are nice, too.  the pine needles and the ball match, but the concrete just has specks of black that go nicely with the stripes on the basketball. :)  So many desciptive words.  My grammar teacher would be so proud. :P

P.S. My number is 22!

Veteran's Day

So, today is Veterans' Day and I thought it a good idea to post a picture of our country's flag.

That is the best photo I could get, but I think it's alright.

Samaritan's Purse: Operation Christmas Child

At my school we are doing this really neat thing with Samaritan's Purse called Operation Christmas Child.  You pack a shoebox for a boy or girl, you can choose, with things in it that they would like and things that they need.  You choose the age group, too.  I did my own shoebox, and this is it.

You are supposed to just rubberband the outside, because they need to check it before they send it anywhere.

They ask that you send hygiene items, like soap, a washcloth, and a toothbrush and toothpaste.

Self Portrait

So... I decided to do a picture of myself.  This is going to be interesting...  Here goes!

So, it's more a self portrait of the camera, but whatever.  Deal with it. :) I like it.  I hope you do too.

Death is in the Air

So, I did my homework and by the time I got ready to take pictures, it's almost pitch black outside. What's up with that? Anyways, there were like 5 or 6 vultures flying around our back yard. Then they landed in a tree and one was on a branch in a little clear circle. Perfect! So I got this pretty, creepy, awesome picture.

I love it! And I got it's little head in, too! Oh my gosh! It looks like a little chicken sitting in a tree. :) It's great! 

The Droves

Here is the other dog.  His name is Drover. He's Nate's dog.  He seriously thinks he's a cat. He jumps like one, and curls up like one, as I demonstrate in the following photograph:

Yep.  That's him.  He's a little weird.  And super shiny!  I mean, just look at that coat!

Fisher of.... Fish

So today my brother went fishing in the 60 degree weather, trekking through mud.  He came back with this beautiful bass. He is currently skinning it. Ew.  Anyways, I am not going to post a picture of a bloody fish. That would be disgusting.  But here is the fish:

Isn't she a beauty! Yeah... That last one isn't very clear, but it's a fish, what can I say?

The Dog

Here's Meg's dog Reuben. He's the cutest old man-looking dog ever. We really don't know how old he is, so he might be an old man, but I don't think so.

There he is! I'm sorry I couldn't get you one of his "Elvis lip". He has a great one. His lip just gets stuck on his tooth when he closes his mouth, but still.

Woman's Best Friend

So, I have been doing pictures of my family and I think animals count :) She's my baby. I got her for Christmas last year. I love her! Her name is Mavis (may-viss).  She's a doll.

Isn't she just adorable!  I love her green eyes. She's not very photogenic, but I try. :)

Sister

So... I realize that i didn't post yesterday, but i was tired and then we went trick-or-treating. So, anyways, here is my other sister Karis.

Isn't this just the best dramatic pose ever!? I love when people just pose and tell you to take a picture of them. Those are like the best photo ops ever!
